Actress Kathryn Bernardo would officially unveil her Madame Tussauds wax statue next month before it moves to its permanent home in Hong Kong.

While the Department of Tourism is typically responsible for coordinating the promotion of Filipino cultural milestones abroad, the agency yielded the spotlight to the private sector. The entire selection and production process was driven by the attraction's management. It was announced last year by Madame Tussauds Hong Kong and the actress herself that she would be the latest and youngest Filipino to be immortalized by the famous tourist attraction.
Steps are being taken to ensure that the replica’s unveiling is flawless. Early imageries of the actress getting her measurements taken were released to the public, showcasing the meticulous precision of the replica, down to the final 1.5cm of her physical profile. If the event pushes through as planned, it would certainly result to a massive gathering of supporters. Preparations from July 1 to 9 would guarantee that the venue is secured for the viewing public.
Before the statue heads over to Hong Kong, where the actress coincidentally shot her two thousand nineteen blockbuster "Hello, Love, Goodbye" with Alden Richards, the new Filipino figure would be revealed publicly on July 9 in Makati. Madame Tussauds Hong Kong said the event would be taking place at the Glorietta Palm Drive Activity Center.
A challenge was issued by the organizers, inviting fans to join. Unless the guidelines are strictly followed, participants cannot win the opportunity to meet the actress and her wax counterpart in person.
It has been approximately two hundred forty days since Kathryn shared last October that having her own wax figure was a dream come true. She expressed her gratitude to the Madame Tussauds Hong Kong team for their trust.
"I'm excited for my fans worldwide to visit and interact with my twin, especially in Hong Kong, since it's such a meaningful milestone for me," the actress said. To cope up with the anticipation, her local supporters have been actively circulating her previous interviews online.
General Manager Wade Chang of Merlin Entertainments Hong Kong noted the immense value of the Filipino market. The general manager praised Kathryn as an inspiring artist who has worked tirelessly to achieve her success. The museum furnitures and interactive displays accompanying her statue are currently being finalized by the team.
The Hong Kong branch currently hosts the wax replicas of other Filipino celebrities, namely, Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray. Furthermore, other international celebrity statues housed in the facility include Rihanna, Timothée Chalamet, Chris Hemsworth, Ahn Hyo-seop, Kim Soo-hyun, Bae Suzy and Hyun Bin.
Meanwhile, a wax figure of Lea Salonga can be viewed at the Singapore branch, i.e., the Sentosa island location.
