Conan went viral three years ago when the then-six-month-old kitten joined the security team to cope up with the loss of a previously adopted feline, Ming-ming. Pictures of Conan donning a black-and-yellow vest circulated widely online, and it was noted by many security guards that they felt motivated to work their long shifts from Monday to Sunday with the cat around. If the staff members were exhausted from their demanding duties, the presence of Conan would reliably result to a much lighter atmosphere in the workplace.
The dedicated Facebook page for the adopted animals of the business center announced on June 2 that Conan had died. The management indicated that a wound on his front left leg might have caused the untimely demise. In a subsequent public advisory, it was stated by the building administrators that the office would livestream a memorial service so that followers could pay their final respects.
"Fly high our Meowguard, our K10, our beloved Conan," the account posted, as deep condolences were expressed by the public.
During the service, beautiful imageries of Conan's life were shared. He was remembered as a source of comfort after a difficult day, a reason to smile during a busy shift and a friendly orange face everyone looked forward to seeing. The administrators highlighted his daily routines, stating that whether he was patrolling the halls wearing one of his cute outfits, greeting visitors, demanding treats, chasing toys or simply napping on duty, the cat made every day brighter.
He was described not merely as a mascot, but as a family member to everyone in the building.
The beloved cat left behind fellow adopted felines, e.g., Kobe, Boss Pedro, Ginger, Bobby, Niel and Purrito. Unless the community and the management step up to continue the tradition of care, the absence of Conan will heavily impact the furry friends who spent their days by his side. It was expressed by the office that the security posts, walkways and random resting places would carry his memory.
The business center hoped that Conan would be welcomed in the afterlife by his predecessor Ming-ming, as well as other departed animals Turmeric, Tisoy and Dodong. Following the end of his final shift, it is believed that his predecessors are finally ready to welcome him home._The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has announced a six-hour road closure in Manila on June 12, 2026, to accommodate the 128th Independence Day celebrations at Rizal Park.
