During a formal press briefing, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that the government possesses sufficient funds to ease the catastrophic impacts of the tremor that resulted to widespread devastation across the region. If the situation demands further localized interventions, adequate steps are being taken to ensure that no affected community would be left behind.

In an effort to establish institutional accountability and effective crisis management, a "whole-of-government approach" was launched by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., wherein continuous coordination has been established with key regulatory and response offices, e.g., the Office of Civil Defense, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Public Works and Highways and Department of Education. Once mobilized, the agencies are expected to evaluate ruined infrastructures and deliver immediate relief to help victims cope up with the tragedy.

Furthermore, the Department of Health confirmed that Cabinet secretaries were directed by the Philippine president to personally monitor and assess the situation in General Santos City. The officials reportedly landed in Davao at around 3 p.m. on Monday.

Prior to the full deployment of national assets, an announcement was made that classes would be suspended in affected areas to ensure the safety of students and educational personnel. As the powerful quake triggered a tsunami warning from state seismologists, an urgent appeal was issued for residents near coastal communities to follow evacuation orders without delay.

“To our kababayans in the affected provinces, please heed the tsunami warning. Move to higher ground now. Do not wait,” President Marcos stated.

He further noted that constant communication is being maintained with regional offices and local chief executives on the ground. Unless immediate logistical reinforcements fail to arrive, the administration remains resolute, promising that the national government is actively moving and that Mindanao would not be abandoned.

Search and retrieval operations are currently underway as the death toll is being strictly monitored by authorities. As of 5 p.m. on Monday, fifteen victims were found dead in the aftermath of the powerful tectonic activity off Sarangani province.
