The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration announced today that easterlies currently prevail over Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas. The agency noted that the entire archipelago would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, mostly in the afternoon or evening. Meanwhile, a tropical depression was monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, and it is not yet directly affecting the weather condition in the country.
If significant changes in the forecast occur over the next one hundred twenty hours, updated informations would be issued by the agency through its regular public weather forecasts and advisories. Local government units are reminded that immediate responses are required, e.g., preparing evacuation centers, to cope up with potential flooding that heavy downpours could result to. Steps are being taken by local disaster councils to ensure public safety.
From Saturday to Sunday, the trough of the tropical cyclone outside the region will likely bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region. Consequently, the Southwest Monsoon, i.e., Habagat, may also prevail, bringing mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the rest of Mindanao, Negros Island Region and Palawan. The rest of the archipelago would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible localized rainshowers or thunderstorms.
From Monday to Tuesday, the monsoon would bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Visayas and Mindanao. The rest of the country will continue to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible localized downpours.
From Wednesday to Friday, Luzon and Visayas will continue to experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon. Unless the current weather pattern shifts unexpectedly, Mindanao will generally have partly cloudy to cloudy skies
